FIN

The Financial Information Network (FIN) provides banking customers with various financial transaction services such as cash withdrawal and fund transfer, as well as financial transaction information.
CD Network

The Cash Dispenser (CD) Network enables customers with cash cards, debit cards or credit cards to use cash deposit/withdrawal, account transfer, balance inquiry, and cash advance services at CD/ATMs. Customers may access their accounts from and CD/ATM. When the CD Network was first implemented, CD/ATMs were operational only during banking hours. Much has changed since then, and today, CD/ATMs are accessible 24/7. In addition, the protocols of CD/ATMs and mobile phones were standardized, allowing customers to use CD/ATMs of any bank to deposit or withdraw cash, make fund transfers, and inquire after their account balances in all banks by using their mobile phones.

IFT Network

The Interbank Funds Transfer (IFT) Network enables customers to immediately remit cash, cashier's checks and collect money from one bank to another and to inquire about cashier's checks, regardless of location.

HOFINET

The Interbank Home/Firm Banking Network (HOFINET) started off as an Automated Response Service (ARS) Network in April 1989, and intermediary electronic banking functions such as Internet, phone, and mobile banking service functions were added to create HOFINET. Thus, services available through HOFINET consist of customer services originally offered through the ARS Network and home/firm banking intermediary services such as phone banking. The customer service offers transaction confirmation inquiry through phones or computers. When using phones, customers can access the services by calling the ARS number 1369 anytime and anywhere.

BANKLINE

BANKLINE (Local Bank Information Network) allows customers of local banks to make withdrawals, deposits, and remittances at all local bank branches using BANKLINE accounts. The network enables local banks without their own national network to provide services for their customers around the country.

K-CASH Network

The K-CASH(Korea Cash) Network connects all banks in Korea and KFTC for payment settlements among banks with regard to transaction of K-CASH, an electronic currency jointly developed by the Bank of Korea and commercial banks. The IC (Integrated Circuit) chip in a card stores cash-equivalent value, which can be used to pay for goods and services. K-CASH is issued by banks in Korea and can be recharged at CD/ATMs, partner stores, teller windows or online.
K-CASH services can be used for public transportation in Gimhae, Chuncheon, Wonju, Hoengseong, Seogwipo, Pohang, Andong and for AREX Express. Many vending machines at universities, companies and army bases accept K-CASH, as do post exchanges and Internet cafes.

BANKPAY

BANKPAY, also known as BANKPAY PG, is a payment system in which customers and sellers make real-time fund transfers for electronic commerce. BANKPAY plays a pivotal role as a payment system for many cyber malls in Korea, including Auction.co.kr, and major e-government web sites, including the G2B system of the Public Procurement Service, the Internet registration service of the Supreme Court, and the G4C service of the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs. BANKPAY is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

CLS Network

The Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) network links local foreign exchange banks with CLS Banks set up by major financial institutions around the world to help decrease foreign exchange payment settlement risks caused by time differences between countries. Currently, CLS-based transactions include spot exchange, futures exchange and swap transactions in a total of 17 currencies.

¡Ø SWIFT Representative Office in Korea

KFTC plays the role of the representative office for National Member Groups and User Groups of the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) community in Korea. In cooperation with SWIFT, we update members with information on SWIFT network performances, initiatives, regional conferences and educational programs, etc.

Interconnection with External Information Networks

In 1993, KFTC inter-linked the CD Network with the Outdoor CD Network operated by National Information & Credit Evaluation Inc. (NICE) to give customers access to banking services such as cash withdrawal from CDs in public places. Also in 1993, the CD Network and National Police Agency (NPA) Network were connected to monitor activities of stolen bank accounts.
When a reported account is accessed at a CD/ATM, the account number, location and time of transaction are sent immediately to the police to aid in the investigation.
In 1994, KFTC interconnected FIN with the Trade Information Network (jointly operated by KTNET and DACOM). Various information and materials related to new L/C openings, fund withdrawals and deposit notifications, billing notifications, and tariff statements are transmitted in an EDI format between financial institutions and trade companies.
In 2005, KFTC started an electronic letter of credit (e-L/C) joint management service, which enables internet base e-L/C business by using the XML (eXtensible Markup Language) format.
